Pre-orders open

The Longshot Precision Trickler is announced and opens for pre-order at $699 — $300 off the $999 retail price, limited to the first production run.

Your charges are only as good as the scale under them. Drift, slow settling and a resolution too coarse to see what's really happening turn load development into guesswork — and every charge you re-throw is time you're not shooting.

A scale we're building ourselves

Most trickling systems ask you to source a lab scale separately and hope it plays nice. We're developing the Longshot Precision Scale specifically for this system, so the trickler and the scale are designed against each other from day one.

In current development testing, the scale shows 0.001 g display resolution, an approximate two-to-three-second stabilization time, and a 0.003 g standard deviation across repeated measurements.

In plain terms: resolution is the smallest change the scale will show you. Repeatability is how closely it lands on the same number when you weigh the same charge again. Resolution without repeatability is just a number that moves — you need both, which is why we publish both.

"Why not just build one myself?"

You can. OpenTrickler is open source, and if you have a 3D printer, soldering skills and the patience to source parts from overseas vendors, building one is a legitimate weekend project. We think that's great — it's why the platform exists.

What we're selling is everything that comes after the build: machined metal parts instead of printed ones, a scale engineered to match, a mounting system designed for alignment and vibration rather than adapted to it, and a phone number to call when something goes wrong. If your time is worth more than the build, this is for you. If the build is the fun part, go build one — and tell us how it shoots.
